Labuan Bajo (Labuhan Bajo), a small town in the island of Flores, Indonesia, serves as the gateway town to the famous Komodo National Park in East Nusa Tenggara. Famished from island hopping throughout the three days we were there, we tried out these restaurants that are mostly located on the main street with beautiful views of the harbor and the horizon.
What and where to eat in Labuan Bajo
Tree Top Restaurant
Our first meal in Labuan Bajo was here in this open-air boat-shaped restaurant. We were able to try different Indonesian dishes while marveling at the colorful murals in the walls, ceilings, and stairs of the restaurant.
Make sure to also check out the upper floors which offer a wide view of the harbor while dining in wooden tables.

Paradise Bar
If you’re looking for where to watch the sunset in Labuan Bajo, then you got to head to this bar. The wide deck is perfect for shooting panoramic views of the sunset and the harbour. Add upbeat music and alcoholic drinks to that equation and it will be a perfect night.

La Cucina
This authentic Italian restaurant is famous for their pasta and pizza. Decked in a white and blue nautical theme, guests can enjoy a meal or drink with views of the harbor. The restaurant is a bit small so it can get a bit cramped. You can also come here for a nice sunset view.

Mediterraneo
Although it looks more upscale than La Cucina, Mediterraneo is another Italian restaurant worth a try. Their food presentation definitely deserves a thumbs up because they put a lot of effort into it. It was like dining in a fine dining restaurant.
The restaurant and lounge also have an “upper” seating with bean bags which is good for chilling around.

Bajo Taco and Bajo Bakery
Also with a view of the harbour is the town’s only Tex-Mex restaurant, Bajo Taco, but they share that terrace view with Bajo Bakery, where you can get an assortment of bread, cakes, drinks, and healthy food.
We tried their quesadillas, burrito, and nachos. It was fun to share these with friends while sipping on drinks.
