Is on arrival visa available in Qatar now? Yes. The State of Qatar allows citizens of certain countries entry into the country for a visit without the need for an application for a visa before travelling.

List of countries allowed to enter Qatar without any prior visa arrangement
According to Qatar Tourism, “Citizens of over 95 countries, including the US, UK and the Schengen region, are eligible for a visa on arrival..”
However, the allowed duration of stay will depend vary on the country of the passport you own.
Note: Nationals of eligible countries do not require any prior visa arrangements and can obtain a visa waiver upon arrival to Qatar, by presenting the following:
- a valid passport with a minimum validity of six months
- a confirmed onward or return ticket

Is Qatar visa on arrival free?

My country is not eligible for a Qatar visa on arrival. How can I get a visa?
All other nationalities can get a visa online using the new Hayya platform. There are three categories:
- Tourist entry (A1)
- GCC Resident (A2) and Companion Entry (A4)
- Entry with Electronic Travel Authorisation (A3)

Do I need health insurance to enter Qatar as a visitor?
If you’re planning to travel to Qatar and stay for over 30 days, you’re required to obtain health insurance. Take note that only insurance companies registered with Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health are allowed.
You can get health insurance on arrival but Qatar Tourism strongly advises that you purchase it before travelling.
The premium for the Mandatory Visitors’ Health Insurance policy is QAR 50 per month.

Can GCC nationals enter Qatar without a visa?
Nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates) do not require a visa to enter Qatar.
Is Qatar visa-free for Americans? Do US citizens need a visa for Doha, Qatar?
Yes, US citizens are eligible for a free visa on arrival in Qatar. The visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days if needed. It’s required to have six months validity in the passport and a return or onward ticket.
However, please note that visa regulations can change at any time, so it’s always a good idea to check with the embassy or consulate of Qatar in the United States for the latest information before travelling.

Is a transit visa required for connecting flights in Qatar?
Can you transit through Doha airport without a visa? According to Hamad International Airport, it is not required for you to acquire a transit visa if you are not leaving the airport.
“Passengers who are transiting through Doha, and not leaving the airport, are not required to present any test results or certifications above the requirements of their departure or destination country,” according to Qatar Airways.
