Doha, Qatar – It was on a windy afternoon when we got to try the new outdoor seaside shisha lounge of one of the finest luxury hotels in the city – The Pier at Four Seasons Doha. On a curving tiled platform with a view of the Arabian Gulf, Nobu, and West Bay stand the recently launched open-air dining outlet of the said hotel. It had been raining but luckily, the weather improved and we were still lucky to witness a beautiful yet subdued sunset with a view of Doha‘s skyline.

Sitting in one of the covered pavilions, I took a look around The Pier. On one side is the view of the hotel and its beach, on the other side is the marina, Arabian Gulf, and Nobu, and behind me is Doha’s cityscape. The white cabanas look very chic and the hanging chair is not just eye candy but comfortable as well.

After the sun had set, the shift from golden to the blue hour went seemingly fast. It was time to sip and savor what The Pier Four Seasons Doha has to offer.
The Pier: Arabic Fusion, Drinks, and Shisha
Although the menu was simple, Junior Sous Chef helped us choose which of the Arabic fusion dishes we should try this time. So what did we order?
We tried the Black Truffled Hummus, Tropical Quinoa Parsley Salad, Fried Trio Of Cheese Samboussek, and Smoky Turkey Saj for the Cold and Hot Mezze. For the mains, we picked Mexican Chicken “Shawarmito” With Harissa Guacamole.

The Black Truffled Hummus was the standout winner! The truffle oil and black truffle chips elevated the smooth and creamy hummus into a rich and luxurious dip, giving it an added depth.

Dining at The Pier Four Seasons Doha
To pair with the savory food and to help with the biting cold, we ordered a glass of Rosé that was served in a double walled clear glass. Chic!
As the night went on, it also got colder. You need not fret for The Pier also provides blankets to keep you warm. The wind will also make you want to order more drinks to increase that body temperature.
After polishing off my wine, I tried one of their artisan cocktails called Young Blood. Served once again in a double-walled glass, the bright peach colored drink consists of Aperol, Blood Orange Sorbet, and Prosecco. It was sweet and cold with a hint of bitterness left on your tongue. I loved that it felt to me more of a sorbet than a drink, and would have been perfect on a hot summer day.
They also serve other spirits, beer, mocktails, juices, smoothies, tea, and coffee.
As for the shisha, they not only offer regular and fresh fruit shisha flavors, but also three flavors of the unique and state-of-the-art Meduse shisha. As I’m not fond of shisha, I left it to Gerald to try The Pier’s shisha that night. Thanks to him, I got to experience the newest outdoor dining spot in Doha.
Since the wind got the best of me, I failed to try the desserts that night. It’s a shame, really, as the Pistachio Ice Cream Cake and Mango Nutella Kunafa seemed to be calling my name. Another time, perhaps.
Despite the cold, it was an enjoyable night in the seaside to unwind, sip, and savor. So if you haven’t been yet, The Pier is definitely an ideal spot for those looking for somewhere new to relax, drink, and dine with a view.
